The Thanjavur District of Tamilnadu, The thiruvaiyaru of Thanjavur District, and the banks of Cauvery flowing across forms the backbone of the Carnatic music.
Situated on the banks of Cauvery, in Thanjavur District is the village “Swamimalai” which boasts of several musicians in the diverse forms of carnatic music like Swamimalai Janakiraman, “Madurai” Somu and all.
Nathaswara Vidwan S.Manimaran, is the latest generation musician of exceptional talent and skill, hailing from swamimalai.
He hails from the musical family, who are the prime musicians (Asthana Vidwan) for Lord Swaminatha Swami Temple, Swamimalai, one amongst the six abodes of Lord Muruga.
Manimaran has over fifteen years of practice and after that, over twenty years of performance across several parts of India and abroad. He is presently the asthana vidwan of the swamimalai temple. He was won several accolades like “Thiru Eraga Nathaswara Isai Selvan”, Nathaswara Isai Selvam”, and Kalaiselva Mamani Radhakrishna award and others.
He has given performances in Madras Doordarshan, and also in the silver jubilee celebration of Sri Sri Ravishankar’s Art of Living, in the Music Symphony.
